Can someone come remove google from my computer?
There are times you should stay away from google & one of them is after your doctor has told you that your daughter's kidney may be enlarged. Apparently, nothing good can come from an enlarged kidney & I spent the evening in kind of a quiet panic. Apparently, my DNA cannot be gone against.
The poor kid - she really deserves your sympathy - because she wants nothing other than to be busy, so even on a regular day, she is constantly having to fend off my frequent requests for a hug or a cuddle. Last night was a bit worse & I think before it was over, she was a bit miffed at me for restraining her so much. My one trick - to use Disney cartoons to keep her a bit still while I sneak in some cuddles - is not available in the evenings.
Eventually, I googled again and found a pediatric site that indicated the vast majority of enlarged kidneys in babies and toddlers are not resulting from some fatal cysts, but rather a simple blockage. That's the problem with google - it doesn't care what you want to know, or need to know - it just throws information out there willy nilly without regard for the consequences. But I was able to finally let some of the worry go & just relax already.
I sometimes wish I was one of those laid back, no sense worrying over what you can't control kinda people. So does my husband.

But I can obsess in the privacy of my home without anyone realizing how neurotic I am. Except I blow all that by blogging about it, huh?
