Can you read this, mommy?

Why are common household items so much more interesting than toys. She has many phones that do bunches of exciting things - lots & lots of fun sounds - but it's the real phone she wants.
We were supposed to have the ultrasound on her kidneys this morning. I was really, really looking forward to waking her up 30 minutes early, not feeding her or even giving her a bottle, strapping her into her car seat for a 40 minute car ride & having a stranger rub around on her back with goo. My mother-in-law made the comment that she hoped they got me right back & I didn't have to wait long. I assured her that with Mandy's volume level, most people saw us quickly. Seriously - I've heard a lot of kids cry & I've never heard one quite reach her volume.
But Mandy had other plans for this morning. They started at midnight, but only lasted about 30 minutes. After a 2 1/2 hour nap, she got serious and the whole house was up at 3 for the rest of the morning. There's no way I can go from 3 in the morning until maybe 8, when they get done with the test, without feeding her, so I rescheduled.
And the teeth have not yet appeared, so you might pray for us as I'm sure tonight will be about the same as last night. I'm not sure whether I have a few days or a few weeks to wait, but I'm pretty sure I won't be getting much sleep until they come.

What a pitiful little face! Makes me just want to hug her. Poor thing!

Actually, my digital camera has a double flash system & she is just startled from the first flash. She was being particularly happy & cute right then & I was trying to capture that, but that double flash gets her every time.

Yeah... Tommy's got two large containers that are full to the brim...
We've since stopped buying new toys as he seems to have more fun playing with empty shipping boxes that we have around the apartment...
As for phones... I noted to Meighan today that I think Tommy uses more cellular minutes than me: he randomly pushes buttons until he gets my brother or mother on the phone... lol
