Potty training has officially started
I've all but abandoned this blog. A facebook update is so much quicker. But this morning's event was so huge that my excitement couldn't be contained to a single sentence.
Leading up to this morning, we've had several instances of her telling me she had a dirty diaper when she didn't. But frequently, she would have one within minutes of saying that, so I suspected she was actually telling me she was about to have a dirty diaper. Thinking we may be close, I would ask her if she wanted to sit on the potty & she would always get excited, but we just sat there, her on the potty, me on the edge of the tub for what seemed like hours while nothing happened.
But this morning, when she said pee pee, and I knew her diaper was dry, I asked her if she was about to pee pee & she said yes. Then I asked her if she wanted to go on the potty, and predictably, she again said yes. I was not expecting anything out of this other than 30 or so minutes of wasted time. But she went!
So, I guess it's on. Excuse me while I go purchase pull-ups. I'm so very proud of my super smart girl!
